Sustainability Communicator + Eco-Lifestyle Advocate +

Charlie is an eco-lifestyle educator and sustainability advocate based in Manchester, with over seven years’ experience helping audiences turn environmental intent into everyday action.

With a background in marine policy and six years running a leading independent eco-shop, Charlie brings both academic rigour and real-world insight to the sustainability conversation. Her work is grounded in systems thinking, practical behaviour change, and a clear understanding of how individuals and brands can meaningfully reduce their environmental impact.

Following a volunteering trip to Nepal that exposed the scale of global waste pollution, Charlie co-founded lifebeforeplastic.co.uk with her sister - an e-commerce platform spotlighting responsible brands and championing lower-impact alternatives. Gaining 10,000 customers and over £330K worth of sales through her business, this experience laid the foundation for her transition into digital storytelling and education

Today, Charlie has built a global online community by sharing daily, actionable eco-tips alongside honest reflections from her own sustainability journey. Her content is known for being clear, relatable, and solution-focused - empowering audiences to make greener choices that are accessible, realistic, and affordable.

Through recurring formats such as Weekly ‘Eco Actions’ and her relatable ‘Normal Things’ and ‘Underconsuming’ series’, Charlie actively centres her community, celebrating collective progress while encouraging open dialogue around imperfect sustainability.

Her storytelling extends to lifestyle content, including sharing the process of planning an eco-conscious wedding - from a sustainable venue to an upcycled wedding dress and second-hand stationery, and documenting how she lives sustainably through items she’s repaired or shared with neighbours. In February 2026, Charlie launched her new channel ‘Charlie Talks Ocean', on Instagram, bringing her background in marine conservation to offer a dedicated space to educate on topics surrounding the ocean and climate change.

Charlie’s work also tackles the bigger picture. She breaks down common sustainability misconceptions, educates on global environmental issues, and highlights both organisations making genuine progress and those that must do more. This balanced approach allows her to speak credibly to both consumer action and corporate responsibility.

She has partnered with brands including Hitachi, E.ON, Back Market, Recycle Your Electricals, Smol, Fairtrade and EARTHDAY.ORG and is open to ongoing commercial and press opportunities with organisations committed to credible, impact-led sustainability.
