photographer, activist & educator

Eliza is a photographer, activist, speaker, creator, curator and podcast host. She is most widely known as the founder of Cheer Up Luv.

Eliza initially launched 'Cheer Up Luv' as a photography-first social campaign to retell the stories of sexual harassment and assault survivors. The series has developed into a globally renowned brand, with a successful podcast and newsletter that facilitates discussions about feminism, misogyny, and everyday sexism.

On social media, Eliza is known for creating relatable, tongue-in-cheek, informative, and well-researched content formats to engage her audience in conversation. She provides endless insights and resources that break down topics into accessible, relatable content which frequently goes viral. Eliza amplifies other people's voices and highlights experiences not typically covered in wider media.

Eliza aims to drive awareness of gender inequality, sexism and women's rights while dismantling stigmas and opening up solution-focused conversations. Eliza does this in multiple ways - through content creation on social, photography, in-person & online workshops, lectures, and hosting and curating art exhibitions. She's worked with some of the world's most prestigious organisations and brands, including:

  • The United Nations

  • Apple

  • TEDx

  • Nicer Tuesdays,

  • The University of Cambridge

  • Forbes Ignite

  • UN Women

Eliza's work has also been featured in major publications like The BBC, The Guardian, i-D, Dazed, and more. She has exhibited at the International Centre of Photography in New York, Photo London, Sri Lanka, Warsaw and Berlin.

In 2022, alongside artist and illustrator Bee Illustrates, Eliza co-created Hysterical, a yearly group exhibition and event series running throughout Women's History Month. The event platforms many women and non-binary artists reclaiming the term ‘hysterical’, and using their voices for change.

Following their debut's massive success, they returned in 2023 with Hysterical: A Celebration of Subversive Art, an event described by the Evening Standard as 'an intimate and cathartic exploration of misogyny.'

This year’s exhibition, Hysterical: Radical Creativity, featured a skate and sketch social raising money for charity and a full scale bathroom installation created by Eliza and Bee to encourage conversations around gender and inclusion, and received press from Huck, Woo, Radio London, Bricks and more.

Eliza continues to initiate critical discussions surrounding misogyny and the treatment of women across different spaces and environments. She uses her online platform, public speaking opportunities, and workshops to inform, educate and inspire history-defining positive action.
