REUSING AND RECYCLING is DEFINITELY IN! LYDIA HOSTED A PATCHWORKING WORKSHOP FOR THE SOCIAL PLATFORM’S PRESS SHOWCASE OF ITS ANNUAL TREND REPORT.
Sustainable Fashion Influencer and upcycler Lydia Bolton hosted many upcycling workshops for brands throughout 2023 and ended the year by joining forces with one of her dream brands, Pinterest. Their event, Pinterest Predicts, was all about highlighting upcoming trends which included ‘give a scrap’ - encouraging people to upcycle waste fabrics rather than letting them go to landfill.
Lydia created a patchworking workshop for the event where she taught attendees the technique of stitching shapes such as flowers and bows onto scrap fabric, which can be used to bring new life to clothing or accessories. The idea behind all of Lydia’s workshops is to share her skills around elongating the life of clothing and using the materials already in existence. She is thrilled to be working with brands that are helping to spread the same message around sustainability.
The attendees loved the workshop and said that they’ll be taking their new upcycling skills into 2024!
