lydia bolton MAN U X adidas COLLAB
Slow fashion designer and sustainable fashion content creator, Lydia Bolton, collaborated with the Manchester United Women’s team, football publication VERSUS and adidas to create a capsule collection of wearable lifestyle pieces from previous’ seasons’ Manchester United kits. The collaboration emphasized the importance of circularity in sportswear and the upward momentum of women in football.
Lydia reworked different Manchester United pieces to create one-of-a-kind items. These included upcycled sweater vests made out of scarves, a patchwork mash-up jersey top that used three different football jerseys, tote bags, bucket hats and a cropped patchwork puffer jacket.
These pieces were then worn by the Manchester United women’s football team and featured in an editorial piece for VERSUS, shot by Jennifer Jukes, to champion the future of women’s football and sustainable fashion. The collection was also displayed at Old Trafford ahead of Manchester United’s game against Aston Villa.
As a creator in the sustainability space, Lydia is keen on helping brands embrace responsibility in fashion. This collaboration has helped spotlight the women’s game and bring awareness to sportswear circularity.
