As part of Lydia Bolton’s commitment to sustainability, Lydia often hosts upcycling workshops to connect with her eco-conscious community and share some of the valuable skills she has learned so others can apply them to their own wardrobes. After a brilliant first community Earth Day event in 2022, this year, we wanted to host an even bigger celebration to involve Lydia’s dedicated sustainable following.

In partnership with Ocean Bottle, Lydia hosted an Earth Day event at THE TRAMPERY | CERTIFIED B CORP. The creative community event, Fashion Made Circular, brought together the eco-curious and eco-conscious to celebrate the strides that we’re making sustainably. It was an immersive day consisting of a panel talk, and two creative upcycling workshops led by Lydia Bolton and Cassie at C.Q STUDIO.

We were joined by a panel of incredible eco experts and activists, including BIANCA FOLEY, RAY HOPKINSON, MATTHEW NEEDHAM, KALKIDAN LEGESSE & IZZY MANUEL who shared their experiences in sustainability, the challenges the fashion industry faces but also the innovations that excite them. Plus, a natural dye screen printing workshop from Cassie at C.Q STUDIO

It was so great to see a packed out room of eco-curious & conscious people - not only people who had already inbuilt sustainability practices in their lives but also those who had never been to a talk on this topic before!

We wanted to encourage and provide a community for everyone, on all stages of their sustainable journey. Trying to live more sustainably isn’t a trend but a series of small (and big) changes we all need to make in our lives that consider the planet.

Thanks to Ocean Bottle for enabling us to activate this event. Ocean Bottle are a people-powered solution to the ocean-plastic crisis. With the sale of each Ocean Bottle, 11.4kg of plastic (the equivalent of 1000 ocean-bound plastic bottles) is collected in coastal areas where plastic pollution is worst.
